ABOUT GLOBAL SERVICE ADVENTURES

Global Service Adventures, a brand operating as Smokey Manor Limited. Global Service Adventures is a family-owned and locally-operated organization in the country of Jamaica. We offer summer service programs in various parts of the island, such as community-led service programs, environmentally-based exploration, sports-related service projects, and also people-to-people projects for students ages 14-18.

By enrolling in our programs, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions. There will be an agreement between us (Smokey Manor Limited) as well as your parents or legal guardian.

FLIGHT INFORMATION

Global Service Adventures will offer chaperoned group flights for students originating from the United States to a designated airport. The price of chaperoned group flights will be added to your total tuition fee.

If someone wants to be more adventurous, we offer self-booking options as well.If you decide to do the self-booking option, you may still be required to pay an additional service fee of $100-300 depending on the additional staffing and transportation needs required to accommodate the individual flight path.

We do not include airfare in the tuition fee. In cases where GSA facilitates self-booking airline travel, GSA is not responsible for cancellations, delays, lost baggage, or any airline-related expenses.

Students originating from outside the United States should book their own airfare to meet up with the chaperoned group flights. For more information about flights, please refer to our flights and travel page.

PASSPORT & VISA REQUIREMENTS

We know you’re excited about this trip, but please make sure that your passport is up-to-date and has at least six months left before it expires. You may also need a visa if traveling to certain countries – check with your local consulate for more information on what documents are required. Global Service Adventures will not provide refunds to participants who have invalid or missing identification or documentation.

SUMMER TEEN PROGRAMS SCHEDULE OF PAYMENTS, CANCELATION, AND REFUNDS

TUITION

If you’re interested in enrolling in any of our programs, lock in your spot by paying a $600 deposit and an additional $95.00 non-refundable application fee.Your 600 deposit is fully refundable until February 15, 2023. If you enroll after February 15th, your deposit is non-refundable after 10 days.If you pay with a credit card, a 4% processing fee will be charged. This also applies to group flights or travel insurance.The most convenient and easiest way to pay is with a credit card. 

PENALTY & LATE FEES

  • A late payment fee of $50 will be charged for payments made after the due date.
  • If you want to change your trip after April 1, 2023, you will have to pay a $200 fee. This covers the extra time required to cancel and then rebook your trip.
  • Changing a ticket that you have already booked within one week of your departure date will cost an extra $100.00. 

TUITION INCLUDES:

  • Accommodation: This may vary and depend on the program and location
  • Airport transfers and all transportation between cities in the destination
  • All Transportation: Ground transportation to all scheduled activities 
  • Meals: Three nutritious meals are provided daily
  • All Adventure Tours: Led by expert and professional local guides
  • Cultural Activities & entrance fees: As described on the itinerary
  • GSA group leader: Expert leader of each location provided for all groups
  • Tips & gratuities: 
  • Travel & Medical Insurance: BattleFace Insurance Coverage (Included for Custom Group Travel)

TUITION DOES NOT INCLUDE:

  • Round Trip airfare
  • Passport and visa fees – Non-American citizens must secure any necessary visas 
  • Meals in airports before and after a trip
  • Baggage fees, Any fee for luggage, expenses related to flight delays or cancellations.
  • Transportation to and from US departure airport
  • Excursions & activities not included on itinerary
  • Optional tip & gratitudes: Participants can make optional tips

TUITION DUE DATES

  • The due date for paying tuition is February 28th, 2023
  • If you register after March 1st, you have 3 weeks to make full payment
  • The tuition balance is due immediately if you register within 30 days of departure

MONTHLY INSTALLMENTS

For registrations before March 1st, we offer individual payment plans and can offer up to 3 equal monthly installments. Contact us to discuss options.

TRAVEL VOUCHER

You can use your travel voucher from a previously canceled program to pay for the deposit or tuition balance. Travel vouchers aren’t transferable, so there is no cash refund with this option!

COVID-19 TUITION REFUND POLICY

COVID-19 has made traveling at times unpredictable, and restrictions beyond our control are sometimes presented . If traveling isn’t possible because of COVID-19 restrictions the following terms apply:

  • If a trip is postponed up to 60 days prior to departure you can exchange your Travel Voucher to another available program of equal value to the full Tuition cost paid. If travel is within 60-14 days of arrival, receive 30% of the prorated value of the Travel Voucher. If cancellation is within 14 days no voucher credit will be given.
  • If you choose to cancel a program for reasons other than COVID-19, our regular cancellation and refund policy would apply.
  • The GSA Travel Voucher is valid for up to two years from the date of purchase.

COVID-19 TUITION REFUND POLICY DOES NOT APPLY TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Participants who wish to withdraw from this program because they are fearful or just anxious about COVID-19.
  • Any return quarantine requirements that might apply to your program depending on what region you are in.
  • Cancellation because you did not follow the rules for entering the destination country.

CUSTOM GROUP TRAVEL PROGRAMS: PAYMENT SCHEDULE & REFUND POLICY

To be eligible for the Global Service Adventures program, you must apply by making a $500 deposit and paying an application fee of $95. Your reservation is fully refundable 30 days after payment.

TUITION DUE DATES

  • Your tuition balance is due no later than 60 days before your program starts, or according to your trip agreement and/or payment plan.
  • If you register for the trip within 60 days of departure, payment is due within 2 weeks.
  • If you register for a program less than 30 days before it starts, you will need to pay the tuition balance immediately.

CUSTOM GROUP TRAVEL COVID-19 TUITION REFUND POLICY

NON-COVID RELATED CANCELLATION AND TUITION REFUNDS

Global Service Adventures will not provide any refund if you miss your trip because of late arrival, early withdrawal, or dismissal with cause.

  • For cancellation, prior to February 28th, all tuition payments are fully refundable or transferable to another GSA program. The application fee is non-refundable.
  • For cancellation from March 1 until May 15th all tuition payments are fully transferable to another program in 2023 or 2024 but are non-refundable.
  • For cancellation from May 15th until 30 days prior to departure all tuition payments are fully transferable to another program in 2023 or 2024 but are non-refundable a $200 Trip Change fee will apply.
  • For cancellation 30 days prior to departure 25% of the tuition can be transferred to another program in 2023 or 2024 but is non-refundable. 
  • If a program is canceled because not enough participants enrolled, you can choose to change programs (if there is another one available) or get your full tuition including deposits. Global Service Adventures will not refund airfare, and other expenses incurred for the trip.
  • GSA has the right to cancel a program if it is not safe to travel to a destination or location. If a program is canceled for reasons such as natural disasters, political unrest, or infectious disease outbreaks (not including COVID-19), you will be refunded your full tuition minus the deposit. You can also use your deposit and application fees as a Travel Voucher for future programs or give it to a friend or family member.

CODE OF CONDUCT & INCLUSIVITY

If you participate in a program with Global Service Adventures, the staff will be responsible for your safety and wellbeing. This means that you have to agree to follow a set of rules while you are on the trip. If you break the rules, you may be dismissed from the program. If this happens, you will not get any refund of the tuition fee back and will have to pay for extra costs like staff supervision, transportation, office time, and new flights.

INSURANCE

We require all participants to purchase travel medical insurance while on our program and strongly recommend trip cancellation. We offer coverage through BatteFace, which provides great benefits like emergency assistance. The policy details are provided on our website here for anyone who wants more information. You also have the option to purchase additional or alternative coverage.

PHOTOS

Global Service Adventures reserves the right to use any photos, videos, or testimonials from its trips in any manner it desires.

ITINERARY CHANGES

To ensure your safety, each participant must submit a completed Health History and Medical Report signed by a licensed doctor.

LOSS OF POSSESSION

GSA does not cover the loss, damage, or theft of personal property and equipment such as phones or computers. Parents must check to ensure that these items are covered by their own insurance policy.

LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISKS

Each participant is required to sign our Acknowledgment And Assumption Of Risks; Release And Indemnity Agreement. These form part of the application process.
